LTN Engineering has a keen interest in the design of and promotion of custom timber trusses. The goal is to provide the planning and engineering to make custom timber trusswork as a building component, . These are to be designed by LTN and approved for production by the Owner and any other Design Team participants. We seek the best joinery, best wood and manufacturing specifications. I've been impressed greatly in the past by our projects that had select grade wood, and a beautiful sanding and oil finish. Yes, we will do round wood truss making too.

Our primary and preferred design is for mortise and tenon "pegged" joinery. Secondly are connections made with steel gusset plates and lag bolts. For some smaller trusses and lower load trusses, long wood screw connections can also work well.

Take a good look around and you'll notice the occasional metal plated, multi ply, modern manufactured wood truss components used for architectural purposes. Look again, They look terrible ! One can only paint these to finish them. They always look very cheap and low grade. Do you want one of these unsightly things in your great room or your building entrance canopy, or lobby ? No way !  Good design sells ... and is pleasing to most folks. So try this ! 

Complete timber framing plans / shop drawings are available at LTN.  The Owner and the Home Designer or Architect create the floor plan. We'll do the timber frame planning and detailing.
